Many developments.

Today Elliot woke up and told his mother that he would like some breakfast. Okay, said his mother, what would you like? I would like, he replied, a giant waffle-pancake. A pause. You mean an eggo waffle, Elliot? His mother asked. Yes, Elliot answered, that would do nicely. And so they ventured down stairs to the kitchen to fetch our two-and-a-half year old the breakfast he asked for. He ate it whilst his mother had a shower.
Shortly afterwards Elliot proclaimed that he was still wanting some breakfast. This time he said he wanted a peanut butter sandwich (I should mention here that he has never wanted a peanut butter sandwich before and we have tried to convince him of the merits of peanut butter sandwiches before... but to no avail). Then he told his mother that he wanted to make the sandwich himself. And so he did, and he ate nearly the whole thing.
And then at lunch he told his mother that he wanted french toast (I should mention here that Elliot has never wanted french toast before and we have tried to convince him of the merits of french toast -both with Andrea's family tradition of syrup and with my family's tradition of butter and icing sugar- but to no avail). His mother made french toast, as she is patient and generous beyond measure and our two-and-a-half year old ate the whole thing. With syrup, but I think that still counts as cool.

Simon is so very close to rolling over, on his own, with no help from anyone or anything. He has successfully rolled over several times from elevated surfaces like pillows. He has moved by pushing and kicking his legs. Simon has fallen in love with his excersaucer(sp?).

The brothers are still getting along great. They both love each other very much. Simon is always looking for his brother, wondering what he is up to. Elliot is always talking to Simon, showing him things, explaining things and petting him.

Elliot's favourite foods right now?
- vegetarian hotdogs
- corn on the cob
- grilled cheese sandwiches
- animal crackers
- teddy grahams
- smartie cookies
- gala apples
- bananas
- carrots
- shrimps
- noodles
- garbanzo beans

His favourite movies are:
- anything with Franklin
- Toopy and Binou
- Charlie Brown

Tomorrow is aunty Amanda's seventeenth birthday. We are all very excited about it. Especially Elliot.
