Greetings

We just spent three days in Seattle to celebrate our ten year anniversary. Elliot stayed with his grandma and grandpa Verwoerd, and spent lots of time with Aunty Shelley and Aunty Amanda as well.
During our time in Seattle, I learned the following things:

1.) Seattle is a beautiful city with a very safe downtown area.
2.) Washington likes road signs (I calculated an average of 21 road signs per km, compared to 8 for BC).
3.) Fractions look wierd on road signs, to me. Seeing that I'm 1/2 a mile from my destination helps me in no way. I'd rather know how many yards. Then I can figure it out by football fields.
4.) I like Vancouver food more than Seattle food.
5.) One dollar bills look a lot like five dollar bills, which I discovered the same time I made a panhandler very happy.
6.) Canada needs Mr. Pibb soda, Milky Ways and Babe Ruth chocolate bars.
7.) It feels very strange to go into a gas station and buy a Minute Maid Lemonade from the same cooler as a fat hairy guy holding a six pack of Coors.
8.) I wish we saw more of Joe, Katy and Elsa Ackerson. They are so cool.

We had a great time, saw some really neat things and slept fairly soundly in a beautiful hotel a half hour away from downtown Seattle.

Now back to reality.
